Funeral held for last Sept 11 firefighter victim

NEW YORK: A single vial of blood was buried to mark the funeral on Monday of New York firefighter Michael Ragusa, almost two years to the day after he was killed in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Ragusa was the last of the 343 firefighters who died in the attack to have a formal service in his memory.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta were among the mourners at the funeral, which had been preceded by a formal wake on Sunday. —AFP
