Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: A hardened criminal managed to escape from the Adiala Jail on Monday night disguised as a jail superintendent’s servant.

Muhammad Akbar, convicted in three Bara Khou Police Station cases, including robbery, a murder attempt and burglary, was moved to the jail superintendent’s home where he worked in the garden. Jail authorities have sent several police search parties to arrest the culprit. Jail Superintendent Naddem Warrich told Daily Times that efforts were being made to arrest him.
