Indus, Chenab in low flood

LAHORE: Rivers Indus and Chenab were reported in low flood at Kotri and Marala respectively on Monday.

According to a Flood Forecasting Division report, 19.512 million acre feet (MAF) of water has flowed past Kotri since June 20.

Rain of light to moderate intensity was reported in Rawalpindi division along the upper catchments of River Chenab during the last 24 hours. Scattered rain of light to moderate intensity was reported in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, DI Khan and DG Khan divisions along the upper catchments of rivers Ravi and Jhelum.

The position of water inflow and outflow at Mangla and Tarbela along with the reservoir levels and the barrages at 6am on Monday was as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela inflow 126,900 cusecs and outflow 126,900, Kabul at Nowshera inflow 25,400 cusecs and outflow 25,400 cusecs, Indus at Chashma inflow 194,800 cusecs and outflow 155,000 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla inflow 21,400 cusecs and outflow 21,400 cusecs, Chenab at Marala inflow 44,900 cusecs and outflow 12,100 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah inflow 178,300 cusecs and outflow 170,200 cusecs, Chashma inflow 194,800 and outflow 155,000 cusecs, Taunsa inflow 156,900 cusecs and outflow 137,400 cusecs, Guddu inflow 139,000 cusecs and outflow 111,200 cusecs, Sukkur inflow 104,000 cusecs and outflow 43,300 cusecs. Kotri inflow 51,400 and outflow 26,400.
