Rainstorms continue near monsoon’s end
Staff Report
LAHORE: A rainstorm flooded many areas in Lahore on Monday evening and ended a hot and humid spell to relieve the city’s residents.
Rain did not help lower the temperature as much as on Sunday, but the evening was pleasant. A nice breeze that made many families visit the city’s parks followed the rain.
The Meteorological Department said the weather would remain partly cloudy with chances of thunderstorms and rain.
Scattered rainstorms are expected in Lahore, DG Khan, Multan Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala. The maximum temperature in the city was 34.2 Celsius and the minimum was 24 Celsius. Humidity was 81 percent in the morning and 71 percent in the evening.
Fifteen millimetres of rain fell in Dir, 13 mm at the Lahore Airport, 5 mm in Kakul, 3 mm in Kalam, 3 mm in Chitral, 2 mm each in Darosh and Astore and 1 mm each in Kotli, Garhidupatta, Malam Jabba and Gilgit.
Flood Forecast Department officials said all rivers were flowing normally.
