‘Only press and people can hold accountability’

ISLAMABAD: The local elections should not be delayed on the pretext of accountability as people and the press can do the accountability of public representatives, Muhammad Ali Durrani, the state minister for culture, sports and youth affairs, told a seminar in Attock on Friday.

If the elections were postponed, it would leave a negative impression on the masses, Durrani said. The devolution of power had introduced a new era of development and provided a base to solve people’s problems at grass root level, said the minister, who is also Pakistan Mulsim League senior vice-president.
