Committee on housing societies will meet on 12th
ISLAMABAD: The National Committee on cooperative housing societies will hold its first meeting on July 12, a hand-out said on Friday.
The federal government formed the committee under the chairmanship of Federal Housing Minister Syed Safwanullah. The government had directed the committee to examine various housing issues proactively to identify the problems in detail and submit its report in two months for the prime minister’s approval.
The committee will examine various issues, including unauthorised sale of plots without fulfilling the prescribed conditions, sale of plots in excess of land actually held by the societies, indiscriminate and unauthorised use of the government department nomenclature to gain credibility, standards of town planning and civic amenities in various housing schemes. staff report
