British high commissioner praises Pakistan’s support
ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner Mark Lyall Grant praised on Friday the messages received from President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz about the deadly London bombings. “The commission has also received a stream of condolences from politicians and the public in Islamabad and across Pakistan,” said a British High Commission statement. Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri called on the high commissioner and expressed shock over the loss of life. “This is a terrible tragedy, which has caused many deaths. As British Prime Minister Tony Blair said, it has strengthened our commitment to combating terrorism,” the British diplomat said. “We are very grateful for these statements of solidarity and support from the Pakistani people; they mean a great deal to us at this time,” he said. The Muslim Council of Britain has issued a statement condemning the attack. nni
