BDS deactivates bomb in Shadbagh
LAHORE: The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials and city police found and deactivated a bomb lying in front of Iqbal Sialvi’s house, Pakistan People’s Party Information Secretary, in the Shadbagh area.
The police said that locals had called 15 and informed the authorities about the bomb. The BDS official and police vacated the area and deactivated the bomb.
They said that the bomb was made locally and weighed 7 kilograms. Police said that the bomb was zinc-plated and some old metal trader, fearing the ongoing crackdown against sale and purchase of smuggled gunmetal, might have thrown the bomb on the road.
The crackdown against the traders is to stop the sale and purchase of gunmetal that is smuggled from Afghanistan.
