Epidemic claims 11 lives in Omerkot
OMERKOT: An epidemic of a disease known locally as Arsenic has claimed the lives of 11 villagers and put more than 100 others in a critical condition in the surrounding areas of Omer Kot, it was reported on Wednesday.
The deceased belonged to the Khaskhili tribe from Achari 3 village. Ishaq, son of Muhammad Rahim, Haider, son of Bhoro Hajjam, Mai Ratna Hajjam, Begum Luqman Hajjam Majnoo and Rajar were among those who lost their lives. The villagers have requested health authorities to visit the area to see the extent of the devastation for themselves. They demanded that the government send health teams and doctors to the village to prevent further spread of the epidemic. online
