Madrid train bombs suspect accused of 191 murders
MADRID: A prime suspect in the Madrid March 11 train bombings has been accused of 191 counts of murder and membership of an armed group, court sources said on Wednesday.
The morning rush-hour bombings on commuter trains killed 191 people in the most devastating attack in modern Spanish history, which struck three days before a general election. Rabei Osman Sayed Ahmed, also known as “Mohamed the Egyptian” and considered to be one of the masterminds of the bombings, arrived in Spain on Tuesday night after Italy extradited him. He appeared before High Court Judge Juan del Olmo early on Wednesday, and answered the judge’s questions using an Arabic interpreter, court sources said. reuters
