Punjab govt will distribute 8,500 residential plots

LAHORE: The Punjab government will distribute 8,500 residential plots to people in low income groups in the current fiscal year, said Raza Ali Gillani, the Punjab minister for Housing and Urban development, while addressing a meeting on Wednesday.

Mr Gillani said the residential plots would be constructed by developing housing schemes on 450 acres of land in Sargodha, Faisalabad, Khanewal, Lahore and Liayah. He said that special care had been taken in developing and planning these residential schemes. He added that the schemes would have all urban facilities. Mr Gillani said that 172 acres in Sargodha would be developed with 171 plots of one kanal, 233 of ten marlas and 232 of seven marlas. In Faislabad 70 acres of land would be developed with 1,645 plots of three marlas and in Khanewal 50 acres of land would be developed with 35 plots of one kanal, 88 plots of 10 marlas and 73 plots of seven marlas. He added that at Raiwind Road, Lahore, 105 acres of land would be developed with 3,385 plots of three marlas, in Liyah 50 acres of land would be developed with 28 plots of one kanal and 28 plots of ten marlas. staff report
