Khokhar to visit the Netherlands, Switzerland

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Secretary Riaz Khokhar will visit the Netherlands and Switzerland from today (Wednesday) to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues with his hosts.
A Foreign Office statement said on Tuesday Mr Khokhar would lead the Pakistan delegation at the meeting with European Union (EU) Troika in Netherlands. The EU Troika consists of the Netherlands (the current EU president), Luxembourg (the next EU president), and the representatives of the European Commission and the European Council Secretariat.
The foreign secretary will meet his counterpart for annual bilateral consultations in Berne in Switzerland.
In the Netherlands and Switzerland, Mr Khokhar will exchange views with his interlocutors on the Pakistan-India relations, situation in Afghanistan and Iraq, Middle East peace process and counter-terrorism issues. The emphasis of both the visits would be to discuss ways to add more substance to the friendly relations of Pakistan with the European Union and Switzerland, the statement said.
