Peace process can collapse because of jihadis: India
NEW DELHI: India has warned Pakistan that the peace process can collapse if President Pervez Musharraf did not rein in “jihadis” operating from its territory, Indian National Security Adviser (NSA) MK Narayanan told ‘India Today’ in an interview. “What we have warned Pakistan is that there are certain thresholds and if they are crossed, the entire thing collapses,” said Narayanan. He said that when President Musharraf telephoned Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to sympathise over the Mumbai floods on July 29, Singh told him clearly that the dialogue process could be affected if the ‘jihadis’ were not reined in. He added, “I think President Musharraf understands the language that was used.” online
