MMA to hold moots in favour of seminaries

ISLAMABAD: The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal has decided to hold Tahafuz-e-Madaris conventions in all the provincial capitals this month to protest the government’s policy against religious schools.

“It was decided in the party’s supreme council meeting that the MMA will hold Tahafuz-e-Madaris conventions,” Liaquat Baloch, MMA deputy secretary general, said. He said that convention dates would be finalised after talks among the leaders of member parties. “According to the schedule, the first convention would be held in Quetta on August 12, second in Lahore on August 17, while the third will be held in Peshawar on August 21 and the last on August 30 in Karachi,” he said. staff report
