Indus in medium flood at Taunsa

LAHORE: River Indus is in medium flood at Taunsa and in low flood at all other sites while the Ravi at Baloki and Sidhnai is in low flood. However the Jhelum and Chenab are normal, a Flood Forecasting Division report said on Thursday.
Scattered light rains and some heavy downpours were reported in the central and southern Kalat division and also over the tribal belt of Waziristan.
Light rains were reported in the Hyderabad, Sukkur, Jhelum, Kohat, Gujranwala, DG Khan, Multan, Karachi, Sibbi and Quetta divisions. According to the report on he dams’ position, the water level at Tarbela has risen to 1542 feet (Dead level 1550 feet) on Thursday. The water level at Mangla has risen to 1201.40 feet, which is just five feet from the total conservation capacity of 1206 feet.
