Committee to review Senate rule amendments

ISLAMABAD: Senate Deputy Chairman Khalilur Rehman on Wednesday constituted a committee to review the recently proposed amendments by the government in the Senate rules relating the parliamentary year’s calendar. To be headed by Leader of the House Waseem Sajjad, the committee comprises Parliamentary Leader of the PPPP Raza Rabbani, Minister of State for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Raza Hayat Hiraj, a leader of MMA Professor Ghafoor Ahmed and PML Senator Anwar Bhinder. After Mr Hiraj requested leave to move the amendments, Mr Rabbani told the deputy chairman that there was room for improvement in those amendments and the item should be deferred for further discussion. staff report
