Children’s killing in Muridke in April: CM gives Rs 100,000 to each family

Staff Report

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has approved Rs 100,000 each for the families of three children who were killed and one child who was injured by a black magician in Muridke in April.

Tehmina Riaz, 7, Muhammad Ramzan, 7 and Tehseen, 6, were killed while six-year-old Zainul Abidin was injured. Locals blocked the GT Road after the murder of Ramzan in protest and also injured several police officials by pelting stones on them.

Muridkay police claimed to have arrested a Malang and his disciple on May 17 allegedly involved in the killing of the three children. Sheikhupura District Police Officer Chaudhry Muhammad Nawaz Waraich said the alleged murderer Baba Imdad Hussain was a resident of Chak JB in Faisalabad and had been living in the area since the last five years. Imdad claimed to be an expert of black magic and Hafiz Arshad under Imdad’s disciple, the DPO said. He said Imdad asked his disciple, Arshad, to bring the blood of three children to become a black magician and Arshad murdered the three children at Daokay village in Muridkay, said Mr Wariach. He said Arshad also wrote a letter to the local police warning them to stay away from him, or more incidents like this would take place. Arshad was arrested after 15 days.
