No ban on wheat for NWFP from today: Shujaat
MARDAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-QA) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Friday announced that ban on wheat supply to the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) will be lifted from Saturday (today).
“From Saturday any province can purchase the required quantity of wheat,” Mr Hussain told the reporters here. He said that the Punjab would supply wheat to other provinces according to a specific procedure. He said the NWFP government tried to politicise the wheat issue.
Asked to comment on the pro-Bush statement of Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali, the PML-QA chief said, “Perhaps he has not seen the pictures of the Iraqi prisoners. I would not vote for Mr Bush if I were an American,” he added. —NNI
