Infiltration up in November: India

NEW DELHI: Pakistan has stepped up its efforts to “push terrorists” across the Line of Control into Indian-held Kashmir, the Indian Defence Ministry has said. In the first six days of November, the army foiled four “major infiltration attempts” from across the Line of Control in which 11 militants, mostly Pakistani nationals, were killed, army spokesman Major General Deepak Summenwar was quoted as saying by PTI. In the latest attempt on Saturday night, five “terrorists” attempted to cross the LoC in Mendhar sector in Jammu of which two were killed, he claimed. He said the sudden spurt in infiltration was to push large batches of militants across before the high passes become impassable due to snow. online
