Labour protection policy draft ready

PESHAWAR: The Ministry of Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis has drafted a comprehensive labour protection policy to contribute to the economic and social progress of the country.

The policy will ensure that labour rights are protected and that the working conditions of labourers are satisfactory, said Ehsan Akhtar Malik, a labour ministry joint secretary. Malik said that the policy stresses the importance of enhancing links between national development and labour protection laws. He said that the policy sought to strike a balance between the protection of workers and the efficiency and competitiveness of enterprises.
