Ayodhya attack a conspiracy, says Vajpayee

NEW DELHI: Describing the militant attack on the disputed site in Ayodhya as a conspiracy, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has said that militants were planning to generate chaos in the entire country by targeting major sites, particularly places of worship.

“Over the past few days, planned attacks have increased in various parts of India. The selection of Ayodhya as the target reveals considerable thinking as this incident may create nationwide ripples. The Centre should exercise greater caution,” he told the newsmen on Tuesday in Madhya Pradesh. The attack indicated lacunae in the Ramjanmabhoomi’s security management, he pointed out adding, it must be profoundly investigated as to how the ultras got to the site. app
