Soomro a millionaire, Amir Hussain depends on wife
ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Muhammadmian Soomro is a millionaire and so is the deputy chairman of the Senate and opposition leader in the National Assembly (NA) Maulana Fazlur Rehman, but NA speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain is dependent on his wife, according to details of assets and property submitted to the Election Commission by members of parliament.
Soomro has a bank balance of Rs1.6 million, saving certificates and prize bonds valuing Rs 4.4 million and Rs 0.8 million, a Rs 600,000 flat in Clifton, Karachi, Rs 1.8 million bungalow in Lahore and Rs 2.1 million worth agricultural land. His Toyota Corolla car is priced at Rs 300,000 while furniture is valued at Rs 400,000.
Opposition leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman does not own a vehicle. Nor does he own any property abroad but has partnership in 21 houses worth Rs 2.1 million in Shorkot and DI Khan and owns 5 plots worth Rs 500,000 and domestic furniture worth Rs 50,000.
Amir Hussain does not own any property in his name. His wife owns Rs 20 million worth assets.
Deputy Speaker Sardar Yaqoob has Rs 6.4 worth assets including a Rs 3.5 million bungalow and Rs 1 million worth agricultural land.—Online
