Patriots MNA’s men thrash govt officials

FAISALABAD: Pakistan People’s Party Patriots MNA Dr Nisar Ahmed, along with his six bodyguards, allegedly thrashed two employees of DCO’s office when they asked Dr Nisar not to use insulting language about their boss, sources told Daily Times on Thursday.

Sources said that Dr Nisar made a phone call to Executive District Officer (EDO) Finance and Planning Asad Islam but he was unavailable. But EDO’s staff officer Nadeem Shahid told Dr Nisar that Mr Islam was present. Sources said that the MNA became furious because he had earlier been told that Mr Islam was not present. Sources said the MNA started quarrelling with Nadeem and told him and his seniors off for not facilitating the public.

Sources said that Dr Nisar reached the DCO office with his guards and beat up Nadeem and Rana Babar, who also replied with force. Sources added that DCO Athar Hussain Sial was present in his office when the incident took place. The employees criticised the Dr Nisar’s act. They said it was the second time the PPP legislators were abusing their authority. Sources said that earlier, Defence Minsiter Rao Sikandar had thrashed the district police officer of Okara. The employees urged the president and prime minister to take action against the MNA. Dr Nisar said he had went to the DCO office for some work.
