Governor honours 12 best teachers
LAHORE: The government is trying to raise the standard of education, said Punjab Governor Lt Gen (r) Khalid Maqbool while addressing a ceremony held to distribute awards among best university teachers and winners of the Asian software competition at Governor’s House on Thursday.
Those who got the best university teacher awards were Prof Dr Mugheesuddin Sheikh, Punjab University (PU) Mass Communication Department chairman, Prof Dr Jamil Anwar, PU Institute of Chemistry director, Prof Dr Hayat M Awan, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Institute of Management Studies, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Saleem, professor of Agriculture (Entomology) at BZU, Dr Abdul Waheed, assistant professor at Department of English, Government College University, Lahore, Prof Dr Abdul Rauf Zafar, Seerat Chair director at the Department of Islamic Studies, Islamia University Bahawalpur, Prof Dr Shahid Mahboob Rana, chairman of the Zoology Department at Government College University Faisalabad, Dr Muhammad Akram Muneer, dean of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, Lahore, Prof Dr Muhammad Arshad, Institute of Oil and Environmental Sciences, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Prof Dr Muhammad Siddique, chairman of the Veterinary Microbiology Department, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Prof Dr Suhail Aftab Qureshi, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.
Prof Dr Shaiq A Haq, Hammad Sharif, Muhammad Usman Sheikh, Usman Nasir, Hafiz Rao Atif and Faiza Ashraf were the winners of the Asian software competition. app
