I returned home with honour, says Jamali
DERA MURAD JAMALI: Former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said on Sunday that he returned to Rojhan Jamali in the same clothes that he wore when he left his native town for Islamabad to hold the office of the prime minister. To him prime ministership was not more important than national interests, he told a big gathering soon after he arrived at the Jacobabad railway station before proceeding to his hometown of Rojhan Jamali. “Some people are politicising my resignation,” he said. “I have always given priority to the national interests and my party decisions.” Mr Jamali said President Pervez Musharraf was leading Pakistan in the right direction. “The people of my constituency can feel pride that their representative has returned home with honour and was not exiled like two former prime ministers,” he said. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) has removed the former prime minister’s portrait from its central secretariat. PML Information Secretary Tariq Azeem said the portraits of all former prime ministers belonging to the Muslim League, including Nawaz Sharif, would be displayed in the secretariat. online
