Development of UC-14 promised
LAHORE: Robina Sulahri, parliamentary secretary on TEVTA and member of the Punjab Assembly, has said she wants to develop northern Lahore to the level of more posh localities like Model Town and Gulberg.
She was addressing a meeting at Union Council-14 late Saturday night that was arranged by locals to highlight the problems and non-development in the area. After listening to the grievances of the locals, Ms Sulahri promised to develop streets, a park and a girls’ school in the area. The residents also complained that UC-14 Nazim Ghulam Nabi had been indifferent to their problems.
“Why are you here? You have never listened to our complaints regarding non-development in the area,” one of the residents shouted at the nazim when he finished his speech by saying that he was not aware of Ms Sulahri’s visit to the locality. However the nazim said he rushed to the venue of the meeting when he heard about Ms Sulahri’s arrival. The situation might have gotten worse between the nazim and the locals, but the organisers of the meeting, led by Amir Malik, managed to appease the angry complainant. staff report
