Sanaullah Baloch resigns from committee on Balochistan
Daily Times Monitor
LAHORE: Senator Sanaullah Baloch has resigned from the parliamentary committee on Balochistan, Geo news channel reported on Friday.
Speaking on the channel’s Capital Talk, the senator said the Baloch wanted a respectable and a prestigious position in Pakistan, but they were being denied that. “We (the Baloch) are being treated on the basis of our population, but we want to be treated on the basis of our geography,” he added.
He resigned from the parliamentary committee because of the discriminatory attitude against the Baloch, the senator said.
Zobeida Jalal, special education minister, who was also on the programme, said the Baloch nationalist leaders should stop attacks before tabling their demands.
“They (the Baloch nationalist leaders) can only blame the government when their demands are not met after the parliamentary committee report is submitted to President Gen Pervez Musharraf,” she added.
