SAARC leaders urged to help on Kashmir
LAHORE: The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has appealed to SAARC leaders to help solve the Kashmir issue for the sake of Kashmiris. Addressing a peace march here on Sunday, JKLF Chairman Syed Faisal said SAARC leaders should take Kashmir seriously. He said India had been forcibly occupying Kashmir for the last 56 years and killed thousands of freedom lovers. India has been fooling the United Nations (UN) by terming the Kashmir movement a result of “infiltration” from Pakistan. He said Pakistan considered freedom the basic right of Kashmiris who were fighting the Indian rule on their own. He said peace and prosperity in Southern Asia could be possible only after Kashmiris got freedom. Kashmiri Leader Farooq Azar said India and Pakistan should not yield to any kind of pressure and the Kashmir issue be decided according to the desire of Kashmiris. Aftab Nazki said if India cooperated on Kashmir, the Southern Asia could be a peaceful zone. Abid Butt and Gul Zaman also addressed the rally. —Staff Report
