Soldier killed in mosque siege

JAMMU: Two suspected militants killed an Indian soldier on Friday and barricaded themselves in a mosque where they were holding two women, police said. Indian Army and police commandos stormed the shrine at Sheendara near Poonch and rescued the women who were held hostage for nearly two hours on Friday, police said. The militants apparently escaped into the forest near the mosque. ap/afp
