PM assures fair local body elections
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Sunday that local Body elections would be fair, free and impartial and level playing field would be available to all candidates.
Talking to Member of the National Assembly Riaz Hussain Pirzada at Prime Minister’s
House, Mr Aziz urged voters to elect the candidates keeping in view their past performance.
He said the people should participate actively in the elections so that the democratic system in the country could be strengthened.
Mr Aziz said the government would continue to work for the
welfare of the people by providing them with clean drinking water, better sewage, roads and gas. He said a project to provide gas to the maximum number of people would be started soon.
He said the government would install 6,000 water filter plants in the country under the Khushal Pakistan Programme.
He said with the increase in economic activity in the country, jobs had been increased. Pirzada briefed the prime minister about the problems of his area and the pace of development projects. app
