Khushhal Pakistan: Programme to usher in era of progress and prosperity
ISLAMABAD: The Khushhal Pakistan Programme will usher in a new era of progress and prosperity, particularly in the rural areas of the country, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Tuesday. He was talking to Ibrahim Jatoi and Abid Hussain Jatoi, parliamentarians from Shikarpur district of Sindh, who called on him at Prime Minister’s House.
Aziz said the major thrust of the programme was on improving infrastructure and providing electricity, gas and clean drinking water to the people, while health and education were also being accorded a high priority.
He urged the elected representatives to monitor and implement development schemes and projects, paying special attention to the equality of work.
The prime minister said that with the programme, underdeveloped and remote areas of the country would gradually be brought on a par with the developed ones.
The parliamentarians informed the prime minister about the development projects required for Shikarpur city, especially those pertaining to drainage and sanitation. They also discussed PML organiszational matters of the Pakistan Muslim League in the district and the forthcoming local bodies elections. app
