Former town nazim arrested

LAHORE: Amir Munir, former Ravi Town nazim, has been arrested. Munir had been given bail by the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench on December 10, 2004, but declared a proclaimed offender when he failed to appear before trial court on January 13. He again secured a protective bail from the LHC. He appeared before the trial court on Thursday, but his bail was cancelled and he was arrested. Shahbaz Cheema, Sohail Bajwa and Malik Tariq, officials of Ravi Town, are also arrested. According to investigations, the accused misappropriated over Rs 43 million.
