Opposition MNAs boycott PM’s dinner

ISLAMABAD: The opposition in the National Assembly (NA) on Monday boycotted the iftar dinner hosted by Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali to protest the arrest of Javed Hashmi, president of the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD).

Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal leader Liaqat Baloch said the joint opposition was unanimous on its stance on the ARD president’s arrest. However Muhammadmian Soomro, the assembly members, ministers and senators from various political parties attended the PM’s dinner besides senior civil officers at the Prime Minister’s House. On this occasion the parliamentarians also exchanged views on various political matters and brought to the PM’s notice various issues.They also talked about the pandemonium caused by the opposition in NA.
