Musharraf has foiled plans to create political instability: Elahi

LAHORE: President Pervez Musharraf has thwarted plans to create political instability by announcing that he would continue in his army office, Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said on Thursday after President Musharraf’s speech to the nation. He said it was essential that President Mushrraf remained as army chief in order to continue the existing internal and external policies. He said President Musharraf’s views on Kashmir represented the voice of every Pakistani. Elahi said the president’s announcement would pave the way for the execution of the national reconstruction agenda. He called on the opposition to give up its policy of confrontation and play its role in the country’s development. staff report
