Indian activists to march for peace in Pakistan
NEW DELHI: Close on the heels of a group of Pakistani journalists visiting held Kashmir, Indian activists are planning to lead a peace rally in Pakistan.
Twelve human rights activists from different Indian states will lead the Human Rights Awareness Sadbhavana Yatra in Islamabad, Lahore and Rawalpindi for three days, starting November 16.
The 70-day rally to promote justice, non-violence and brotherhood started in New Delhi on October 2 - Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday. The activists reached Nepal on Wednesday after touring different parts of India, and went to the streets on Friday. “The Pakistan trip will also include journalists,” said MU Dua, president of the All-India Human Rights Association that is organising the rally. “Visas have already been issued by the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi,” he said. online
