Fazl meets Nawaz in Jeddah

LAHORE: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, met Nawaz Sharif, former prime minister, in Saudia Arabia and condoled with him Mian Sharif’s death, JUI-F sources told Daily Times on Saturday. Mr Fazl prayed for Mian Sharif and expressed his grief over his death in a meeting with Nawaz Sharif at Jeddah Palace. Nawaz Sharif said his father had wanted to meet Mr Fazl and would have, had he not passed away. Sources said Mr Fazl stayed with the Sharif family for one hour and discussed national issues. He hoped that the government would allow the Sharifs to attend Mian Sharif’s funeral in Lahore. staff report
