Urs of Ghazi Ilm Din Shaheed begins

LAHORE: The two-day celebrations for the 75th Urs of Ghazi Ilm Din Shaheed started on Saturday, at his gravesite in the Miani Sahib graveyard.

The celebrations started after the Isha prayers with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

A number of Naat Khawans including Hakeem Farzand Ali Naqshabandi, Hafiz Muhammad Amin Naqshabandi, Hafiz Muhammad Usman Naqshabandi and others recited Naats highlighting the history of Ghazi Ilam Din Shaheed. Ghazi Ilm Din was executed for murdering a Hindu writer Rajpal in 1926 because Rajpal had written a book to defame Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
