Seven held for violating code of conduct

MANDI BAHAUDDIN: The district police has arrested seven people on charges of possessing and displaying illegal weapons during the local council elections.

According to police, Akhtar Mehmood, Shafiqur Rehman, Safdar Ali and Shahid Imran violated the Election Commission (EC) code of conduct by resorting to aerial firing on election day in Aahdi village. Police arrested the accused and recovered three rifles from them. In another raid, police arrested three men - Shahid Sharif, Shamshir and Sajid Mehmood - for violating the EC code of conduct by displaying arms. app
