Second phase of polls was rigged, claims opposition

LAHORE: Around 700 local council election nazim and councillor results were altered to strengthen the position of government-backed candidates, alleged opposition party leaders during a press conference on Monday.

Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (Lahore) President Haji Muhammad Hanif, Pakistan People’s Party (Lahore) President Haji Azizur Rehman Chann and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (Lahore) President Hafiz Salman said that result sheets were changed to favour the government’s candidates.
