Man killed over rent-dispute

LAHORE: Three men clubbed a shopkeeper to death over rent-dispute at a Sunday Bazaar in Islampura police jurisdiction.

Rajab Ali, 22, had rented tents from Muhammad Jamil. They scuffled on rent and exchanged hot words. Jamil and his accomplices attacked Ali and clubbed him. Ali was rushed to General Hospital where he died. The killers fled from the scene. The police registered a case on the complaint of deceased’s uncle Hassandin and had arrested Jamil, one of the accomplices. Further investigations were underway.

Man shot dead by uncle: A man shot dead his uncle over a monetary dispute in Factory Area police jurisdiction. Saifullah had borrowed money from Qamar Nawaz and was unable to pay it back. Nawaz scuffled with Saifullah over the issue and shot him and fled. Nawaz was rushed to a hospital but died after initial treatment. The body was sent for autopsy and a case was registered.

Man killed: A 23-year old man was killed in Shahdara police jurisdiction. Rana Farooq Ahmed’s friend Sifarish Ali had a quarrel with Fiaz. Farooq, Ali and their two friends Fareed and Waseem went to Fiaz to resolve the matter. But Fiaz and his five unidentified friends killed Farooq and injured Fareed and Waseem. Police sent the body for autopsy and a case was registered against Fiaz and his friends on the complaint of Rana Farooq’s relative Ghulam Murtaza.

Man dies in accident: A man died in a road accident in Bhaati gate police precincts. The unidentified man was injured two days ago when a motorcyclist hit him while he was crossing the road. Passers-by rushed him to a hospital where he died on Monday. The motorcyclist fled. The body was sent for identification.

Police arrest robber: Johar Town police caught a robber while he was attempting to escape. Four unidentified men entered Muhammad Basit’s house and held the family hostage. They collected cash, jewellery and other items worth Rs 400,000. One of the robbers took Basit’s car. Basit’s friend informed the police about the robbery. When the police reached the spot, the four men dispersed during the shoot out. However, the police caught the robber who was attempting to escape in the car.
