Trader abducted for Rs 3m ransom
LAHORE: A trader of readymade garments and his driver have been kidnapped for Rs 3 million ransom, police sources told Daily Times on Monday.
In another incident, a kidnapped boy was recovered after payment of Rs 800,000 ransom.
Sources said that Salahuddin, a trader in Rang Mehal, and his driver Arshad left the city for Rawalpindi on a business trip on Saturday but did not reach their destination. On Sunday, unidentified people called Salahuddin’s family from Nowshera and demanded Rs 3 million ransom for Salahuddin and Arshad’s release.
In the second incident, unidentified men kidnapped a trader Waqar Ahmad’s eight-year-old son Muhammad Saeed from Lower Mall police jurisdiction a few days ago and released him on Monday after receiving Rs 800,000 ransom. Ahmad found his son from Sheikhupura. staff report
