Charge sheet in Musharraf conspiracy case on 3rd

Staff Report

KARACHI: Justice Shabbir Ahmed of the Sindh High Court Monday allowed four more days for the presentation of a charge sheet in the case related to the conspiracy to kill President Pervez Musharraf in April.

The CID had earlier presented Mohammad Ashraf Khan, an official of the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen-al-Almi before the court, stating that he was also connected with the conspiracy.

The man, who was arrested Saturday, is the finance secretary of the organization.

The CID said it required more time for interrogation of
the suspect.

Allowing another four days, the judge asked the CID to present the charge sheet in the case on Saturday.

The court had Saturday allowed police his remand for two days. Airport police had registered a case against the organization’s chief, Mohammad Imran, its deputy chief Mohammad Hanif and Rangers’ inspector Mohammad Waseem for conspiring to kill Gen. Musharraf on April 26, by ramming an explosive-filled truck into his car as he was arriving to address a public rally at the mausoleum of the Quaid-e-Azam.

Police said Ashraf’s arrest was the result of the interrogation of Imran and Hanif.
