PU signs MoUs with Iranian universities

LAHORE: Arshad Mahmood, the Punjab University vice chancellor, met Iranian Consulate General Aqay Muhammad Khudadi to discuss educational collaboration between the universities in the fields of biological sciences, art and design and irrigation.
Punjab University (PU) also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Iran’s Firdoosi University (Mashad) and ‘Aastan-e-Quds Rizvi’, the Central Library to exchange books and faculty members during Mahmood’s visit to Iran. A student-teacher exchange programme MoU was also signed with Tehran University. Under the programme the universities of both countries would share research and exchange student and teacher delegations to improve the standard of education. The delegation consisted of Dr Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, PU Persian Department hairman and Mrs Nadra Naeem Khan, director of the Lahore College’s Women Development Centre.
Mahmood also met Dr Muayary, the deputy minister of Research at the Foreign Ministry and Dr Mustafa Kariman Iqbal, the deputy minister of Research at the Academics Ministry.
