PSF delegates to attend forum in Mumbai
LAHORE: Pakistan Social Forum (PSF) Secretary Irfan Mufti has said the Interior Ministry has permitted 885 PSF delegates to cross the border at Wagah on foot to attend the World Social Forum (WSF) in Mumbai and the Indian government had also agreed to grant visas to 1,400 participants from Pakistan. Mr Mufti announced this at a meeting of the National Steering Committee of the PSF on Monday. He thanked the government for allowing the delegates to attend the forum. He added that the gesture showed the government of Pakistan wanted good relations with India. Mr Mufti said thousands of people were expected from around the world to participate in the six-day WSF, which would start on January 16. —Staff Report
