SAARC to fight child death rate

KARACHI: The president of the Federation of Associations of Paediatric Surgeons of the SAARC countries has highlighted the need for closer collaboration between paediatricians of the South Asian region to curb the high infant mortality rate. Prof DK Gupta told reporters on Saturday that the association provides surgeons with a forum that benefits them in modern training. He revealed that the association members had prepared a draft resolution to train the SAARC medical councils and government functionaries would also be sensitised regarding the importance of child health. app
