Musharraf and Blair to discuss trading system
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Britain Dr Maleeha Lodhi said on Thursday said that President Pervez Musharraf’s visit to the United Kingdom would strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields.
Talking to ARY-ONE TV, she said that President Musharraf would discuss increased market access and the need for an equitable global trading system, with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
She said that Britain was Pakistan’s largest trading partner in Europe and its fourth largest in the world. Trade between the two countries was over $1.3 billion in the last financial year. Dr Lodhi said that there were currently more than 100 British companies operating in Pakistan with a combined investment of $1.6 billion. app
