Bracewell made Kiwis coach until 2007
WELLINGTON: New Zealand cricket officials said Wednesday that coach John Bracewell will remain in his position until 2007.
Other than a recent 2-0 win over Bangladesh, New Zealand has lost six consecutive Tests under Bracewell: one to South Africa, three to England and two to Australia.
The New Zealanders have lost seven of 12 Tests since Bracewell took charge. In that span, New Zealand has won 18 of 21 one-dayers. New Zealand Cricket said it felt a need to reaffirm its support for Bracewell, who previously had a two-year contract. “We decided we wanted to back him more and give him the job security he needed to be successful in the position,” chief executive Martin Snedden said. ap
