Doping — 2009 worlds on IAAF council agenda

HELSINKI: Anti-doping policy and the naming of the 2009 world championships host city will top the agenda at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) council meeting in Helsinki this weekend.

The 28-member council will hear a report from the world athletics body’s anti-doping task force, set up in the wake of the Athens Olympics and the scandal involving Greek sprinters Costas Kenteris and Katerina Thanou. The task force is expected to make recommendations for changes in the IAAF’s anti-doping policies and procedures. reuters
