Baloch is should unite for their rights: Bugti

Staff Report

Quetta: Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) Chief Nawab Akbar Bugti said on Sunday that Baloch political leaders should unite in the struggle to secure the rights of the Baloch people. Bugti’s written message was read out in the Quetta Press Club by the party’s general secretary Agha Shahid Bugti.

The message stated that Bugti had floated a proposal to form a joint party consisting of all Baloch parties to fight for the rights for the people of Balochistan a few months ago but at that time, the proposal was not widely accepted, so he was once again appealing to the political leaders of the province to seriously consider it.

Bugti alleged that the country’s rulers were exploiting the natural resources of Balochistan and that the province was getting nothing in return. It was necessary for Baloch people to unite in these circumstances, he said.

Regarding the distrust between various Baloch leaders, Shahid Bugti said that in a democratic system a party, one leader had to oppose another leader depending on the government in power, so the leaders should not let personal grievances come in the way of the Baloch cause. He alleged that the present government would eliminate all Baloch leaders one by one.
