ANP and JI to collaborate in polls

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party-backed Awam Dost group (ADG) and Jamat-e-Islami-backed Al-Khidmat group (AKG) on Sunday agreed to jointly contest elections in Charsadda and its three tehsils.
According to the agreement, the ADG will field its candidate for the district nazim slot and the AKG will field its candidate for the naib nazim slot. In the Shabqadar election, the tehsil nazim will be from the AKG and naib nazim from the ADG. In Tangi tehsil, both nazim and naib nazim will be from the ADG.
Charsadda is the second district after Peshawar where the two groups have agreed to form an alliance. The agreement was reached between ANP provincial president Bashir Ahmad Bilour and JI MNA Shabir Ahmad Khan.
